Tertulias

"Speak clearly; speak easily but not too much, especially when others want their turn; do not interrupt; be corteous; deal seriously with serious matters and gracefully with lighter ones; never criticise people behind their backs; stick to subjects of general ineterest; do not talk about yourself; and, above all, never lose your temper"
From the Economist December 2006

Terrible.

RE: Brooklyn, Bremblens, Black Holes--

Maybe that "mesh of optic channels" you spoke of last september is more in sync than you know.

Similar to your economist, here is a quote off my wall:
"To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony."

It seems clear to which source Mr. Channing went to have a sip:

Always looking backwards, to the classics...

It is possible, Amalio, that what we are talking about here is temperament, not simply habits and refinements. We may discover we are stuck with the genetic hand we are dealt, with respect to temperament, and that all of a billion little moments over the years that define our life are simply our destiny in DNA.

Están locos, estos americanos...

(Asterix dixerit)

¿Se dirá dixerit?

Voy a procrastinar un poco sobre ello.
